Odin's Story
Odin is one of the cats we took care of in the street. We had only seen him a couple of months ago and had him neutered as soon as possible. He’d lost his left eye due to an infection. A lot of stray cats suffer from eye infections which causes loss of sight if left untreated. Life in the streets is hard enough for them but it’s even harder when they’re partially blind. It increases their risk of getting run over by cars and they’re more prone to abuse by “humans” because of the way they look.
We were called by a volunteer who’d seen him in a terrible state and that he looked like he’d given up on life. We went over as soon as we heard and we couldn’t believe how bad he looked! He had blood and mucus coming out of his nose, mouth and blind eye. We thought he’d been run over by a car but it turns out he just had a really bad infection. We rushed him over to the vets and he was treated for his infection and had surgery on his blind eye. He’s all better now but it’s so sad knowing that so many people must have walked past him and ignored his cries for help. After everything he’s been through we have decided to find him a home. He’s currently in a cattery and will be ready to travel to the UK and Europe in around 4 months time. Please consider opening your home to this gorgeous boy. He’s so smart and so affectionate. And he gets along with other cats!
Adoption Process
At Help a Stray Cat, we strive to provide a safe and caring home for cats in need. We take the adoption process seriously and ensure that each of our cats find a home that is warm and loving. To make sure that happens, we have an online adoption form and a home check for potential adopters.
All our cats are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and potential adopters are required to pay a £200 adoption fee. We believe that with the right home, every cat deserves a life of love, safety and happiness.
